Our mission in action
Solutions to End Homelessness
Council for the Homeless provides proven and effective solutions that alleviate the trauma of homelessness while empowering people to thrive.
Leadership Through Partnership
Our organization leads the community’s collaborative strategy to find safe and secure housing for everyone experiencing homelessness in Clark County.
Advocacy Supporting Housing Reforms
We advocate for state legislation and policies that address the needs of the people of Washington experiencing or at risk of becoming homeless.
I’m very happy, and I’m grateful to see my kids so happy and safe, too. I wanted them to have better opportunities, and now we all do. It’s really positive here, and I see my sons doing big things in the future.

Trauma Informed Care Statement
We are an agency dedicated to serving people who are unhoused or at risk of homelessness. Committed to a trauma-informed approach, we integrate this perspective into our services, policies, and organizational culture. Homelessness itself is a traumatic experience, profoundly affecting both the people we serve and the people who support them.
Recognizing the deep connections between trauma, homelessness, housing, and health, we foster a trauma-sensitive culture that prioritizes safety, empowerment, and healing. This awareness shapes direct services, program design, and organizational policies and procedures, ensuring a compassionate and effective response for everyone involved.
